Social promotion in Russia makes you better
Social promotion is not so popular in Russia as it can seem. Even in 1980s social promotion took significant place in our life. All Russians who lived in those years remember social posters and video spots where ideas of liability were declared. The following mottos were very popular: “Save Soviet nature, it’s our motherhood”, “Matches are not toys for boys” etc. All those social ads were sponsored by SU government and created by governmental institutions. Nowadays everything has changed and we can find many various social advertising which is sponsored by official government, non-governmental companies and private persons. Much money is spent every year on various social campaigns which are supported by strong media campaigns with movie spots, social booklets, mottos etc.
A lot of international non-commercial companies work on the territory of Russian Federation and many social ads from different countries are available nowadays in Russian Federation. I am sure that it is really importans as we have a unique opportunity to use best Ameriacan experience in the field of social promotion as our own traditions in this area are very weak but we have lots of ideas and creative directors who can make all them effective. That’s why various contests of social promotion are so popular now in Russia and many professional advertizing firms took an active part in such kind of events and if you enter RuTube you can look for many social spots shooted by the leading Russian organizations but usually the visualization of social problems leaves much to be desired. Still there are quite a lot of popular social videos on alcohol addiction and other issues. But certainly, we should always keep in mind about the current situation in Russian Federation and the main problems which the government has to sort out. One of such difficulties is demographic decrease as too many people die in former Soviet Union and they know that they should stimulate people to give more births. As an example of social promotion which concentrated on demographic issues we can state on social posters which were placed in Moscow subway with a lady with 3 girls on her knees. This post gives more questions rather than gives answers as there is no man on this poster and the lady looks sad.
I think that social advertising in Russia just starts its way and in the nearest future we will see lots of great examples of video spots and social posters as well as complicated social campaigns.
